Music Monday says You Can’t Always Get What You Want

I’ve been providing clues to my new book for weeks now, and guess what? This is the final clue.

You know what that means, right? I’ve finished writing the book! 😀

I’m excited, SUPER excited! Next steps: The manuscript goes to my wonderful editor, Annetta Ribken, and the amazing JB Graphics will design the cover and create a new book website for me.

It’s been a long haul. There is still so much to do, but for now, I just want to breathe and thank everyone who has been so patient, loving, and supportive during my writing process. I am thrilled with the book, and I hope you will be too.

Look for more information about my book in future blogs, including book title, release date details, marketing, and more.

As for this song by the Rolling Stones … it’s one of my favorites, and a perfect final clue.

Big love

” … I saw her today at the reception
In her glass was a bleeding man
She was practised in the art of deception
I could tell by her blood-stained hands

Oh, you can’t always get what you want
Oh, you can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometime
You just might find
You get what you need …”

Here were previous weeks’ song clues:

The Tide Is High | Crazy | Coconut | Mad World

Something | You’re So Vain | It’s Probably Me

Windmills of Your Mind | She’s Always a Woman

If you want to read other genres I write: erotica/romance, flash fiction, and short stories with a twist, check out the selection.

  1. Sincerest congratulations, Eden! Then again, as Truman Capote said, “Finishing a book is just like you took a child out in the back yard and shot it.” I hope the separation anxiety is not quite that difficult.

    1. Oh my god, Ray, I LOVE that, there is a little of that … but it’s more like… I shot it, and I know it’s not dead, so I keep checking it every few minutes!

  2. Congratulations Eden – was there ever a doubt you’d finish? Not in the minds of your fans. I can’t wait to read it. I’m saving a nice cabernet for the event

  3. So happy for you, ‘My Girl’… Finishing a book (if my memory serves correctly!) is like the conclusion to love coupling in a hay loft! — Any interpretation is acceptable… xox

    1. Oh my goodness, Billy Ray, you DO have a way with words. And of course, YOU would know given how many books you’ve written! Thanks lovely man, xox

  4. Congratulations, You have an excellent editor. I can’t wait to read it.

As the Stones would say, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need.

  5. Eden, congrats on finishing your book. I can’t wait to read it because while your clues are fun and fascinating I am as lost as a goose trying to figure out what they mean. You know I love your writing so I am sure that I will have fun reading the new baby when it is ready to meet the public. Cheers to you sweetie, Ardee-ann

    1. Thank you Dannie, I love that image. I feel as if I’ve been holding my breath for months, unable to let it out. Now I can, finally … and I’m not full of hot air!

  6. Congrats on finally finishing it! Always a triumph to finish a first draft, even though you may sit back and think, “That really sucks.” It’s all right, that’s what revisions are for 🙂 I’m sure it’s going to be wicked awesome when it’s ready for press!

    1. Thanks hon, it’s actually draft #304, not the 1st. Just kidding … not really hehe
My editor would kill me if I sent her crap! Thanks for the encouragement,
      xo

  7. I hope you are going to explain all the clues and their relation to the title, because this thicko cant keep up and is, quite frankly, lost! 😉

    1. Ha, John, you will understand the connections when you read the book. It’s not just to the title, but also to setting, characters, and plot. Does that explain it a bit better? I love the Stones, only saw them once, but Mick can still move!

I'd love to hear from you.
